Won't lie... I think I've given in to ever urge these past two days or so.  I think my logic was something like this... "This lash is bugging me like crazy- if I don't pull it before tomorrow then I'm stuck with it and it's really going to bug me."  Horrible logic- I know.  But maybe you can relate :) Of course, there will always be some hair, lash or brow that's going to bug me.  Wish that wasn't the case.  I need to quit feeling for bad hairs and quit spending time in front of the mirror.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow- a new day!

Guess what I saw today on the MSN's home page?!
The slideshow: "The itch that can't been scratched" can be in it's entirety here.  It included hair-pulling (trichotillomania), hair-eating, hair cutting (trichotemnomania), skin picking, nail biting, hand washing, excessive showering, excessive plastic surgery, obsessive tanning, and excessive tattooing and piercing.
Below are the screen captures of hair-pulling and hair-eating (click for larger image).
I think it's GREAT that this is on the front of MSN- spreading more awareness!  And whenever I see something like this pop up- I try to jump on the opportunity to share about TLC in the comment section (in case there is someone suffering in silence) and share the story on facebook... keep spreading the word and hopefully helping somewhere out there realize that they are not alone!

Why I don't wear false lashes...

Well, I have wore them.  Once.  And of course, the day I chose to wear them was on my wedding.  I mean seriously- you have hundreds of pictures taken that day and you want to have lashes in those pictures!  Well... it was a bad experience... and I have hundreds of pictures to prove it.  The lashes just weren't laying right.  We (bridesmaids and I) kept trying to fix them.  Someone should have just said- it's not working, just take them off.  But instead, I wore them not realizing how bad they were and the end results were one eye looking normal while the other eye looked surprised.  AWFUL!  And the weird thing if you cover one eye (either one) in the photo it looks fairly normal.  But together they are crazy.  And I hate my wedding pictures.  I blame false lashes.  Therefore, I hate false lashes.
And yes, I put giant hearts on my husband and niece's faces :)  I'm sure they wouldn't care if their picture was on here, but since I didn't ask... I didn't post.

Pull-free bracelet

I saw this great idea on Annelise's blog Last Lash- a pull-free bracelet.  How it works: For every day you are pull free, you add a bead to the bracelet.  You pull one hair, lash or brow then all the beads come off.  What a great visual reminder!  And since I'm going to be starting my NAC on Mary 1st... I might as well start this bracelet then too.  Crazy... now I'm kinda excited for May to get here.  Now I just need to go shopping for supplies.  And since I have a little crafty six year old... I imagine I'll have to pick out some beads for her too :)

Thanks for the great idea, Annelise!  (By the way, if you haven't checked our her blogs yet- you must!  I just found her blogs recently and she's awesome!)

Hairs on your head

So often the verse Luke 12:7 comes to mind when I'm thinking about trich... the one that says not to fear because God cares about us and that He even knows the number of hairs on our head (see why it makes me think of trich).  Well, I just read the verse again, but in a different version (The Voice) and it jumped out even more. "...God knows you in every detail—down to the number of hairs on your head at this moment."  At this very moment God knows the number of hairs on my head- even if that number is changing again and again :)

I started taking NAC on October 1st, but it didn't last long.  I'm horrible at remembering stuff and I just kept forgetting to take it.  I figured what's the point if I'm not going to be consistent.  Well, I'm going to give it another go.  I heard Josie talk about it in an interview recently and she said it took a couple of months till she really noticed it working (not sure if I've posted the interview before... you can check it out at the end of this post).  So starting May 1st (cause I like to start things at the beginning of months or weeks) I'm going to start taking NAC again.  I'd love to get my brows filled in and a full set of lashes.  Just need to figure out a way to remind myself to take the NAC.  Hmmm???
